ABSTRACT

The rationale of this study was to examine the facility constraints in the utilization ofcomputers for processing Guidance and Counselling undergraduate students’internal results in institutions of higher learning in South-East, Nigeria. A descriptivesurvey was adopted for the study. The study was carried out in all federaluniversities in South-East, Nigeria. In order to gain meaningful responses from thestudy respondents, the research employed a structured questionnaire. 1558 was thestudy population while 105 were sampled, comprising 48 female lecturers and 56male lecturers in federal institutions of higher learning in Eastern, Nigeria. 15 itemquestionnaires were used as the instrument for data collection. The tool was facevalidatedby experts. Cronbach Alpha reliability test was used to determine theinternal consistency of the instrument. The subjects’ responses were used todetermine the reliability coefficient which suggests that the internal consistency ofthe instrument is acceptable. Mean and standard deviation was used to answer theresearch question. The finding showed that facility unavailability is one of the majorconstraints in the utilization of computers for processing Guidance and Counsellingundergraduate students’ internal results in institutions of higher learning.
